Based on BOMA San Francisco’s commitment to further the advancement of traditionally underrepresented groups within the Commercial Real Estate industry, we are pleased to offer the Akiba Davis-Everett Memorial Scholarship.
The scholarship was established in honor of Akiba Davis, who served as the association's Education Coordinator for 10 years and was a staunch supporter of professional development and committed to continuing education. The scholarship is intended to provide support to individuals from underrepresented racial and ethnic backgrounds, gender identities, sexual orientations, and/or disabilities.
This scholarship aims to empower future leaders to break down barriers, promote diversity, and contribute to a more equitable and inclusive commercial real estate industry. The recipient of the scholarship will receive funding towards one Real Property Administrator class. In the RPA® designation program, you’ll learn how to enhance the value of the asset through proper and strategic decision making. Components of this program include design, operation, and maintenance of an office building. You will become fully versed in budgeting and accounting for commercial real estate, risk management, and best practices in bidding. This program also covers reviewing and selecting contract providers, marketing and leasing the building, and operating the asset from an owner’s perspective through a comprehensive asset management component.
The scholarship includes class registration fee, printed book for the course (optional) and designation enrollment fee, if not already enrolled.
