Mayor Signs Measure Amending San Francisco Mobile Food Facilities Law
 
On June 28th, San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee signed legislation that will address deficiencies in the current Mobile Food Facilities law.  The changes will only apply to future permit applications.

Bike Sharing Pilot Program for Downtown San Francisco

San Francisco's Green Building Ordinance - New Green Building Submittal Form for Tenant Improvements
 
Note that for interior commercial tenant improvement projects with cost no less than $500,000, please reference the new green building submittal form now required by the San Francisco Department of Building Inspection.  This form will be used to enforce San Francisco's Green Building Ordinance.

Firefighter Air Replenishment Systems
San Francisco Fire Commission Supports Changes to FARS Requirements
 
Recently, the San Francisco Fire Commission voted to recommend a change to the local requirement that all new high rise buildings in San Francisco install the patented firefighter air replenishment system (FARS). This system was designed and patented by Rescue Air and was adopted as a requirement by the San Francisco Board of Supervisors in March 2004, over BOMA’s objections.

Supervisor David Chiu's San Francisco Family Friendly Workplace Ordinance
 
San Francisco Board of Supervisors President David Chiu visited the BOMA San Francisco office to discuss his newly introduced proposal, the San Francisco Family Friendly Workplace Ordinance.  This initiative would do two things: provide San Francisco employees who are caretakers or parents the right to request predictable and flexible workplace schedules, and it would prohibit employment discrimination based on an employee's status as a caretaker or parent.
