Please take a moment to read the op-ed piece, A small-business neighborhood, by Marc Intermaggio, BOMA San Francisco's Executive Vice President, published in the San Francsico Examiner (pg. 16) on  September 13, 2010.  Feel free to share this opinion piece with your tenants so they can see how the nature of downtown San Francisco has changed.  More importantly, please ask your tenants to pay attention to the November 2, 2010 election which could have a large short-term (taxes) and long-term (anti-business policies) impact on small businesses in San Francisco.

We're pleased to report that the Commercial Rent Tax and Parking Tax have been effectively halted thanks to to the efforts of BOMA San Francisco members and the greater small business community.  While this is good news, the fight against ANY new taxes is not over; there are a number of additional tax measures on the November 2, 2010 ballot that BOMA San Francisco opposes.

UPDATE: California Cable Car Infrastructure Improvement Project
 
The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) and the Department of Public Works are collaborating on the California Street Infrastructure Improvement Project. The project will replace aging underground components of the cable car line and repave 17 blocks on California Street between Drumm Street and Van Ness Avenue.  The project will require a six-month closure of the California Cable Car Line from January to July 2011.
