Energy, Sustainability & Resiliency (ESR)

Mission

The Energy, Sustainability, and Resiliency Committee educates and collaborates with building owners and managers about best practices in the management of buildings’ carbon emissions, waste reduction, diversion, recycling and disposal, water conservation, and upcoming issues of compliance, while also educating regulators about the potential challenges of proposed mandates.

Goals

  • Communicate with owners and owner representatives regarding upcoming regulations to ensure all parties are aware of operational or capital planning adjustments required to comply.
  • Educate commercial buildings to become more energy-efficient and reduce carbon emissions, while promoting sustainable business practices within the industry, waste management best practices, water conservation plans, and environmentally sustainable transportation practices.
  • Provide opportunities for committee members to engage with representatives from government and key utility providers.
  • Maintain BOMA San Francisco’s status as the industry leader for best-in-class energy and sustainability policies and practices.
