Volunteers are the lifeblood of an association, and participation is what makes an association strong.  One of the most valuable benefits of your membership in BOMA is the ability to cultivate closer, more cordial personal relationships within the local commercial real estate community.  Committee participation provides the peer interaction and access to information that you need to better serve your tenants and relate to your clients.  BOMA maintains 9 member-led committees.  Participation is open to all members of BOMA San Francisco.  (A member is defined as any employee of a dues-paying entity.) A complete description of each committee is available on our Committee page, along with its mission, goals and meeting schedule.  For specific information, please contact the committee chair directly.

BOMA San Francisco Toy Drive to Benefit the San Francisco Firefighters Toy Program

BOMA SF has been partnering with SFFD Toy Program for over 25 years. SFFD Toy program started in 1949 with a few firefighters fixing broken bikes to what it has evolved to now, the "Largest" Firefighter Toy Program in the U.S.  The program receives over 40,000 family applications annually with one to multiple children, ranging in age from infants to 13 years old.  These requests do not include the shelters, schools, burn units, pediatric AIDS wards, cancer units, and families burned out that the firefighters see first hand on any given day.  The Toy Program distributes over 200,000 toys each year and BOMA members' participation is integral to the success of this program. Member buildings can assist in this effort by placing official toy barrels in their lobby and encouraging their tenants to donate new, unwrapped toys during the collection period.

Toy suggestions include: balls,  games, puzzles, dolls (including dolls of color), books, DVD's, baby items (even wipes and diapers, blankets, rattles), stuffed animals, back packs, hair items/brushes/combs, bikes of all sizes, Gift cards (such as Target, Walgreens, Old Navy, Marshalls, Ross, McDonalds, pizza.  Should be placed in an envelope labeled as such and mailed directly to the toy program.  $10 to 20 dollar range), movie cards, and older girls items including jewelry, hair products, coin purses, etc.
